  • Lead root cause analysis/ problem-solving projects to implement corrective and preventative actions using tools for issues identified internally or externally including customers and supply partner locations. (Tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Why, Is/ Is Not, Red X, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customer concerns and ensure timely resolution of complaints. Consistently providing updates to customers, plant representatives, and internal teams.
  • Effectively manage containment of non-conforming product within L&L, customer locations, supplier locations, and product in transit.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues, optimize processes, and develop viable process control techniques.
  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify quality trends and improvement areas using statistical tools/ software. Support process validation with capability studies (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk). Evaluate proposed process changes using sound analytical approaches and statistical methods.
  • Gather electronic, real time, and historical data to compile, analyze, summarize, and present to the cross functional teams.
  • Drive actions that keep products in control versus within specification.
  • Implementing/ verifying use of best practices and lessons learned.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits, assessments, and support supplier development.
  • Conduct internal audits, layered process audits, and support external audits by customers and certification bodies.
  • Assist in the development of the process flow, DFMEA, PFMEA, and process instructions.
  • Routinely audit process flows, PFMEAs, control plans, manufacturing paperwork, process parameters through reverse PFMEA audits at the manufacturing line.
  • Clearly understand the customer's requirements and integrate into manufacturing and quality processes. Communicate and verify customer requirements within supply partners.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional teams, gate process, APQP tasks, customer specific APQP paperwork, and Oracle workflows for new products launches ensuring quality is built into the design and process.
  • Lead quality planning activities including preparation of control plans, process flow diagrams, inspection instructions, and applicable MSA/ SPC.
  • Understanding of special characteristics internally and customer defined. Integrate and verify characteristic requirements are built into processes and production paperwork.
  • Validate tooling, fixtures, and gauges for new and modified products through participation in Run @ Rates, capability studies, and gage studies on new parts/processes to verify parts are meeting targets and running efficiently.
  • Assist cross-functional teams as required to solve plant and customer issues. Some travel, to customers or suppliers, may be required. Occasional international travel may be needed.
Job Requirements:Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • High school diploma or GED;
5 years mfg. experience and/or quality experience. * BS or MS in a technical field including but not limited to chemistry, physics, polymers, statistics; quality, chemical, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or industrial engineering preferred; equivalent experience in industry will be considered.
  • Problem-solving certification(s) preferred (Red X, Kepner Tregoe, Sig Sigma,etc)
  • Proficiency in AIAG methodologies for APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA
  • Understanding of GD&T, blueprints, dimensional tolerancing, inspection systems, and metrology equipment.
  • Auditor competency and certification to IATF 16949:2016
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to motivate and lead
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, MiniTab, GageTrak)
  • Working knowledge of basic statistics
  • Analytical specification testing and instrumental skills
  • Project management, technical writing, and reporting skills
  • Basic chemistry, laboratory practice skills, and test equipment
  • Basic polymer science and processing
  • Analyze and solve problems systematically
  • Develop relationships and communicate expectations and issues to customers, manage and drive change to improve processes and systems
  • CQE certification from ASQ preferred
