- The Europe Banking Business Execution Associate is part of the Banking Business Execution team, dedicated to supporting the Europe Banking teams across IB, CB and CCB, with a particular focus on IB.
- Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow for the area or function.
- Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.
- Requires very good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Able to distil complex information into simplified messages. Strong ability to work on excel, PowerPoint and put together solid and high impact materials for management.
- Strategic mindset. Understands the systems of the organization and where to get the required information. Partners with the Europe Banking and International teams, other Business Execution Leads, Legal Entities, Products, Functions and country teams and products to gather the top of mind matters to use in various materials for management.
- Works independently and thinks ahead of the items and matters that will need attention. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required.
- Support Europe Banking management with the strategy execution with a focus on Investment Banking. This will entail coordinating the initiatives we have underway, driving the various meeting agendas and measurement of the various KPIs. High level of perfection and competency in ensuring the quality and timings of information is met.
- Work with the Banking Heads in Europe, in particular Investment Banking head, to frame the key areas for growth and opportunities which would supplement the core strategy.
- Be close to the macro environment and any geopolitical and strategic lens that would feed into the evolution of the business direction. Use these in co-ordination of materials and tying this back to the strategy.
- Support the Banking management on assembling all the presentation materials for interval review and client and external presentation. Partner with other BE in International and product organizations to draw in the themes needed.
- Support forecasting / pipeline tracking, budget preparation and expense / headcount approvals in line with business objectives.
- Coordinate key banking execution processes including review and tracking of accuracy of bankers scorecards, year-end performance assessment, review of target market and client priorities.
- Support coordination of Internal Audit requests, regulatory requirements in partnership with in-business risk and control and legal entities management; support strategic reviews with management.
- Be good at comparative analysis looking at trends, market share, competitive benchmarks, external data sources, replicable ideas, and content from across Citi.
- Will require active engagement with Banking management, legal entities, business, and functions on a daily basis. Will require good influencing skills, multitask and can-do approach and solid perseverance.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Ideally a minimum of 4-6 years relevant experience depending on profile
- Required skills include project management, strategic analysis, solid quantitative aptitude, and the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate complex business issues through concise presentation skills.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Powerpoint and Excel expertise including demonstrated capabilities with pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, and formulas
- Excellent people skills to oversee cross disciplinary work streams.
- Interest and experience in the financial services industry, in the areas of technology and data mining.
- Knowledge of Investment Banking products.
- Banking, consulting or business management background preferred.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree preferred
- This position can be based in either Paris or Milan
