
Start-up & Strategic Partnership Senior Manager (W/M)

- Identify the right signals in the market and transform them into business opportunities
- Be the sparring partner of Bel “experts departments” (e.g. Research, Packaging, Upstream Dairy and Squeeze, … ) to understand their stakes, new technologies and the innovative trends that will drive the future of Bel
- Draft recommendations for prioritizing certain technologies for internal steering committees
- Scout the AgriFoodTech ecosystem in each tech vertical to identify the potential startup partners
- Take part to networking events to promote Bel, build and maintain business relationships with the relevant ecosystem (startups, VCs, incubators, etc)
- Contribute to the partnership development with the partners and lead the execution
- Support, coordinate and participate in the legal, corporate and technical due diligences
- Articulate the partnership structuring by recommending the solutions to implement Bel's strategic vision in the agreements and find acceptable middle grounds on negotiation items
- Turn complex structuring issues into actionable choices for Bel with the contribution of external lawyers
- Act as a sparring partner of the Chief Venture Officer during the negotiation phase
- Co-lead the drafting of legal documents with Bel legal team
- In case of equity investment, own the equity structuring, valuation analysis, legal docs, counsel relationship and negotiations
- Maximize support and value creation post deals, managing and monitoring investment activity and strategic partnership
- Be the sponsor of the partnership, support its execution, ensure both interests are kept
- Be the problem solver in case of difficulties between Bel and the startup
- In case of equity investment, review the performance of the venture and manage potential follow on
- Identify additional synergies with Bel (on top of the strategic partnership)
- Optimize strategic relationships with VCs
- Support and feed BEL strategic relationship with its investee VC funds
- Participate in deal flow sessions
- Feed the relationship with insights from BEL
- Leverage the relationship in dealmaking (mkt insights, tech views, due diligence, mkt practices etc.)
- Identify potential new VC funds in line with Bel strategic topics, lead due diligence and drat recommendation to invest in
- 10 years' experience min including a strong knowledge of FoodTech/AgriTech ecosystems
- Confirmed experience in a VC or CV & ideally a confirmed experience as entrepreneur
- Real affinity on legal and financial stakes
- Strong business acumen and results oriented mindset
- Ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders from different levels of seniority and backgrounds
- Ability to build strong relationships with start-up & eager to learn on areas outside of his/her expertise and on new technologic trends
- Strong communication skills, at ease to promote Bel externally
- Demonstrated a real care for our planet and sustainable stakes in personal or professional life
- Fluent in English is a must have
