
E-Trading Risk Manager Vice President

- Provide independent oversight and control of electronic trading equity market risks including (but not limited to) regular assessment and identification of concentrations and top risks
- Oversight of controls ensuring consistency between trading books risk exposure and firm's risk appetite. In this context, contribute to regular reviews of intraday limit framework and limit utilizations
- Continuously review limit and reporting framework to ensure appropriateness considering new trades, businesses, products risk factors and market conditions and opportunities
- Represent FRM eTrading at various governance committees and monitor/ review effectiveness and applicability of controls for e-Trading in the legal entity, whilst assisting in the development of new controls where appropriate
- Analysis and review of e-Trading algorithms, including controls and testing methods, as part of 2nd Line of Defense oversight of algorithmic validation, including work with Model Risk Management department
- Oversight of controls to ensure business is taking risks that are consistent with the Firm's strategy. In this context, contribute to regular reviews of intraday limit framework and limit utilizations
- Oversee relevant operational risk for eTrading for the 2nd Line of Defense
- Closely work with the Operational Risk team on designing electronic trading scenarios and adapt these scenarios to a fast-evolving environment
- Interact with the local regulator (ECB, BaFIN) on eTrading risk management regulatory topics and contribute to implementing regulatory requirements
- Degree, or equivalent in a quantitative discipline, such as Economics, Finance, Sciences or Engineering.
- Additional qualifications, such as an FRM or CFA certification (preferred)
- Experience in a role with direct exposure to electronic trading (Risk Management, Technology, Operational Risk, etc.).
- Experience in algorithm development, including market making vs agency trading market micro-structure and market data
- Experience in market risk monitoring (limits monitoring and review, risk appetite definition)
- Strong knowledge of financial products (preferably equity Derivatives and Options), including an understanding of risk representations (Greek sensitivities, VaR) and a solid understanding of risk management concepts as well as market dynamics
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements for electronic trading, particularly those emanating from European regulatory authorities (e.g. MiFID II)
- Confidence to take ideas forward and to challenge others, where appropriate, with experience in influencing, facilitating and gaining consensus
- The ability to work independently in a self-directed way in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables
- The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
