You will join a team of 60+ system engineers in the "Situational Awareness and Mission Management" department in charge of terrain/weather/traffic awareness functions, vision enhancement and targeting systems, data-links as well as mission management systems for all Airbus (e-)VTOL products.
Your mission will consist of system engineering activities and helicopter level integration of Optronic systems such as Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting Systems.
- This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.

- Requirements engineering
- Definition and implementation of operational concepts and use cases for Optronic systems
- Ensure planning at equipment and helicopter level for development and qualification
- Participate in offer management and contributing to product sourcing policy
- Assess suppliers’ offers with other stakeholders
- Interface with project management, purchasing, sales department and other project stakeholders throughout the organization
- Interface with / management of suppliers and customers
- Proactively control and monitor suppliers during the development phase, with the aim of safeguarding technical requirement
- Technical responsible for the integration of optronic systems into complex helicopter avionics
- Manage suppliers during development phase
- Support rig, ground and flight testing of the equipment
- Ensure the qualification / certification of equipment and the according functions
- Technical responsible for optronic systems integration
- Apply of agile development methodology
- Benchmark our solutions with state of the art optronic ones (e.g. in the field of augmented reality, laser technology, image processing)
- Actively contribute to definition and execution of research and technology (R&T) activities and optronic systems product strategy
- Supporting knowledge exchange within Airbus (all divisions)
- Academic studies in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
- Comprehensive experience in the design, development, engineering and/or integration of optronic systems (e.g. Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting systems)
- A previous experience in optronic systems (e.g. Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting Systems) development and integration in an airborne platform is mandatory
- Knowledge in systems engineering, requirements engineering and integration in the field of avionics
- A previous experience with agile methodology (Scrum, SAFe) would be beneficial
- Experience in Supplier Management
- Team Spirit, good communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
- Language skills: English business fluent / negotiation level, knowledge of German, French or Spanish would be an advantage
