System reviews with suppliers and authorities will have to be performed in order to ensure proper development activities application.
In parallel, you will develop yourself to become a Certification Qualification Engineer (CQE).As CQE, you will be the focal point for the Airworthiness Authorities with whom you will negotiate the certification basis as well as the certification strategy and means of compliance (lab/ground/flight testing, Safety analysis...) and authority involvement (document acceptance, test witnessing, in-house reviews...).
You will also be responsible to ensure demonstration of compliance to the applicable airworthiness requirements, to ensure their in-service safety.This results in a challenging transverse position, including negotiation internally but also with Aviation Authorities world-wide, with great responsibilities, and a good overview on our products, on our systems and on our organization.This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.Task & accountabilities :Your mission is to achieve the certification and qualification of the Tiger MKIII Helicopter, in particular the Avionics system, in an international environment within the transnational team of the Chief Airworthiness Engineers, and in front of a several National Customer/authorities representatives.To achieve this you have to:
- Apply ED-79 / ARP 4754 strategy defined on Tiger MKIII
- Ensure proper adherence to ED-79 / ARP 4754
- Perform internal audit for system development assurance application (system reviews)
- Perform external audit for system development assurance application (system reviews)
- Identify/define the applicable Certification / Qualification basis
- Contribute to the obtainment of permit to fly in case of cooperation projects
- Define the Certification/qualification Logics for your system, elaborate and harmonize (internally / externally) the certification & qualification plans, including the identification of the Means of Compliance and associated demonstrations of compliance.
- Coordinate the creation and delivery of those compliance demonstrations in accordance with the general milestones provided by the Project team
- Validate those demonstrations of compliance and harmonize them with Authorities
- Produce the certification / qualification synthesis documents and harmonize them with authorities.
- Coordinate a transversal team for a given certification/qualification project
- Be a key player for the harmonization of the certification processes, for continuous improvement and DOA implementation on Tiger.
- Be a point of contact, internally, and in front of our customers/Authorities, for Governmental Avionics system development, when related to Certification and qualification strategy, certification regulations or applicable standards.
- Promote our Roles & Responsibilities and associated processes within Airbus Helicopter and in front of our Authorities.

- Become authorized signatory and responsible within the development assurance system including the whole process of certification and qualification
- Educated to a 5 years’ degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of overall experience.
- Good knowledge of the ED-79A / ARP 4754-A
- Solid and successful experience in a concrete application (as auditor or as auditee) of system development assurance for certification of an aircraft (systems reviews 1 to 4)
- Experience in Avionics system certification would be a plus
- Experience or knowledge in ED-12()/DO-178(), ED-80/DO-254 standards would be a plus
- Experience in project management would be a plus
- Good level of communication
- Comfortable in negotiation situations
- Language Skills: Advanced level of English and French
