At Dark, we passionately believe that space represents not only a cornerstone of the modern world but also a catalyst for shaping our future. Our mission is clear: to safeguard this invaluable realm by pioneering spacecraft and mission designs for the protection of vital orbits and assets. That is why we are gathering a team of bright minds to tackle crucial challenges through advanced engineering. Our focus? Velocity. We are kicking in technologies that will enable faster than ever before orbital missions, ushering in a new era defined by unprecedented agility and boundless opportunity.Joining the GNC department, you will take responsibility for Dark’s flight model, overseeing the modelling activities and ensuring the consistency with the GNC and system needs.Working with various groups within Dark, you will integrate the necessary simulation and analysis frameworks to provide the required capabilities, such as SITL and HITL, to enable the conception, optimization, and qualification of Dark’s systems and services.First Missions
  • Getting up to speed with the current flight model architecture and its past development activities
  • Taking ownership of the GNC flight model – adapted for multiple simulation paradigms, including SITL and HITL testing
  • Refining the model with relative motion dynamics and new sensors elements to support short range operations analysis
Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the modelling and simulation activities planification, consistently with the system’s needs
  • Maturing the flight model, by refining the architecture and designing new features
  • Implementing subsystem models and perturbation models to support the conception phases of Dark’s missions and spacecrafts
  • Defining the applicable norms and development processes
  • Supporting the overall GNC workload, including design studies and performance quantification
  • Participating in the establishment of an optimised model-centric GNC workflow
  • Providing support to the SITL and HITL teams in the integration of the flight model into the relevant environment
  • Contributing to the definition of internal GNC engineering standards, processes, and tools
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in model-centric projects, ideally related to flight vehicle control
  • Proficiency with MATLAB / Simulink
  • Strong mathematical foundation, with an interest in physics relevant to space missions
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics and theorical knowledge of perturbation in space environment
  • Hands-on experience with fast-prototyping languages (Python, ..) and scripting
  • Experience with parallel computing deployment framework is a plus
  • As we have an international team, knowledge of technical English is required. Fluency in French is a plus
CultureWe recognize that extraordinary work ethics turn mere achievements into triumphs. Hence, we hold each team member accountable for enhancing collaborative performance within Dark by embodying the following skillset:
  • Methodology – Your ability to clearly define and articulate the steps required to achieve a desired outcome
  • Relevancy – Your capacity to discern and select the most appropriate course of action based on the prevailing context and circumstances
  • Results – Consistently obtaining and updating the necessary resources and information to drive towards the intended outcome effectively
Benefits
