You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.You'll lead and manage a team of Train Control Engineers (TCE) who are technical leaders and coordinators for Train Control activities on projects.They are functional responsible of all the resources like Control Engineers, System Engineers TC, Software Engineers and Verifications Validation and Testing Engineers contributing to the Train Control activities all along the V-cycle of the Project. Your team is called EDU (Elementary Design Unit) for Train Control Engineers.Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as the Chief of Development, Sub-System Managers, and leaders of other domains), ensure the consistent development of team competencies, and much more.You’ll specifically take care of deploying standard processes and tools to ensure team efficiency but also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support technical solutions for tenders, projects, or platforms.Accountable for:
  • Deploying the standard processes and related methodologies and tools in order to ensure TCE efficiency
  • Defining, developing and sharing re-usable “design patterns” in your domain
  • Ensuring the proper adequacy of resources (people, staff) with the needs expressed by the Projects
  • Developing continuous improvement approaches for the Train Control Engineers
  • Supporting or building and validating quotations for Tenders, Projects or Platforms (Technical Products Management)
  • Supporting Projects on some technical or process issues
  • Setting sound and safe architectures (functional split between software and hardware, design for testing, design for maintainability, design for manufacturing)
Responsible for :
  • Arbitrating in case of issue in allocation of the resources (staff, tools, …) for executing TC work-packages
  • Defining the Sub-contracting strategy in liaise with Sourcing and based on inputs from the TCE Domain Leader
  • Defining the yearly Training objectives and arbitrating between the demands from the TCE Domain Leader
  • Networking with your peers of other sites to share workload or competencies
  • Validating and compiling the investment requests from the TCE Domain Leader
  • Managing your Metier by using regularly updated KPIs to continuously improve the performance of your EDU on Tenders and Projects
  • Chairing regular reviews with the TCE Domain Leader on Metier topics (people & workload, competencies, processes, standardization, architecture, technology, etc.)
  • Leading Return on Experience reviews with the TCE Domain Leader to submit process and costing improvements to Train Control Office to define some changes in your processes, tools, organisation
