Job Category: UnderwritingJob Description:Role PurposeIn collaboration with Head of Financial Lines France and Segment leaders, develop and implement underwriting strategy for Professional Indemnity (PI) Insurance and to achieve underwriting profit goals in accordance with business plan for this line of business. Ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of underwriting guidelines and controls, consistency of approach towards risk selection, pricing, and use of capacity whilst recognizing market conditions. The successful candidate will have the responsibility to drive Business opportunity and retention by getting close to brokers and clients.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessment, select, and price products in line with the company's business strategy.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with brokers and other intermediaries to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers.
  • Monitor portfolio to ensure compliance and profitability.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity.
  • Achieving quote and hit rates for New Business.
  • Ensure New business pipeline is up to date
  • Anticipate and manage the referral process to Local, Regional and COG Underwriting leadership with the aim of obtaining approval without further questions.
  • Ensure the underwriting rationale per account is sound and appropriately documented in the files.
  • Actively participate in meetings and communicate proactively with Head of Financial Lines regarding key figures and market conditions. The future underwrite will have privileged relationship with CEMENA product leader.
  • Ensure booking is done in a timely manner
Qualifications:Role qualifications :
  • Previous 3+ years of Professional Indemnity underwriting/broker experience
  • Specifically experience within other financial lines products (especially D&O and Crime) would be a plus.
  • Expected legal or financial academic background in combination with insurance culture
  • Fluent in English
  • Continues to develop technical and broader business skill
  • Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
