As the Group Category Manager for Heavy Equipment, you will be responsible for managing and developing our range of heavy equipment products. You will play a key role in product line construction, negotiating international contracts with key suppliers, and overseeing factory sourcing. You will work closely with local purchasing teams, technical teams, sales and marketing to ensure the success of our products in the market. This position reports directly to the Group Purchasing and Supply Chain Director, member of the Management Board.Product management
Analyse market needs and define a competitive and innovative product range
Conduct market studies to identify trends and growth opportunities
Work closely with country purchasing directors to meet their specifics needs and expectations
Develop and manage the product lifecycle of heavy equipment, from conception to market launch.
Private labels
Develops a private label range across all heavy equipment categories, ensures the sourcing of these products in compliance with each country’s standards, and oversees the international development of these ranges.
Negotiation and pricing
Build strong relationship with key suppliers, and negotiate international agreements to ensure optimal purchasing conditions
Ensure margin protection and manage year-end rebates with suppliers
In relation with all countries, develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
Sourcing and technical considerations
Supervise the sourcing and production process in factories to ensure product quality and availability
Ensure regulatory monitoring for this product category in the relevant countries
Monitor regulatory constraints in each country and adapt products accordingly.
Sales development
Support the sales teams with training on these product ranges
Work closely with the marketing and digital teams to develop sales across all channels, and ensure consistency and efficiency in product launches.
Reporting and cross-functional collaboration
Set up management and monitoring tools of the Group
Ensure monthly reporting by country on the development or heavy equipment category, sales and margin performance, and ongoing action plans.
Solid experience in heavy equipment, across multiple categories, whether hot or cold
Experience: minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment, with strong technical knowledge.
Skills: excellent negotiation, market analysis, and project management skills. Ability to work in a team and manage multiple worldwide projects simultaneously
Languages: Fluency and proficiency in English (both spoken and written), french as well (optional) and additional language is a plus
