Our broad base of clients and extensive experience allow us to understand the dynamics of each restructuring situation and the needs, attitudes, and positions of all parties in interest.ScopeThe Financial Restructuring Group is expanding and we are looking for a 6 month Intern (with, ideally, at least 6 months of prior investment banking or equivalent experience) to be based in our Paris office.Interns have the opportunity to work specifically with the group, assisting with a variety of transactions, including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed mergers & acquisitions. You will have the unique opportunity to work on projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and industries.Responsibilities
  • Advising companies and stakeholders in out-of-court and in-court restructurings
  • Distressed M&A advisory service
  • Participating in complex negotiations on behalf of our client
  • Interns are typically members of deal teams comprising one managing director, vice president, associate and financial analyst.
Requirements/QualificationsThe environment at Houlihan Lokey is results-driven and entrepreneurial and, as such, rewards top performers with substantial responsibility and interaction with senior-level professionals and clients.
  • You will have ideally some prior investment banking or equivalent experience (e.g. M&A or an industry team, leverage finance, restructuring)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English
  • Have a demonstrated record of academic achievement and hold a 2:1 degree in a technical field (i.e., accounting, economics, finance, engineering)
  • Have some understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications
  • You must be motivated and have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • An exceptional strong work ethic
