- Lead, guide, negotiate and draft transactional legal activities (in the UK) and Europe, to ensure that transactions, policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with all relevant government laws and policies and support long-term business objectives
- Become a trusted advisor to Stifel Europe's senior shareholders. Build strong relationships and work with senior management to help them achieve their strategic goals.
- Provide business insight to the business, including strategy, business processes, procedures, new initiatives and products, and other areas of legal impact.
- Ensure close communication and collaboration with the General Counsel and the legal team in the United States. Work closely and proactively communicate with other legal professionals in the organization to ensure a coordinated and common approach to legal risk management.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external counsel and other internal shareholders.
- Proactively advise the company, including on strategy, identification and management of legal issues.
- Ensuring that the legal and regulatory framework within which Stifel Europe operates remains appropriate to the size and nature of the business.
- Monitor changes in legislation, regulations and market practices. Advise senior management on how best to adapt to the new legislation. Provide support to regulators as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the team achieves the highest level of performance.

- Be a qualified lawyer with a good understanding of capital markets transactions on a European scale and the broader investment banking activities in which Stifel Europe engages.
