We automatically detect the dishes that are taken from the fridges and charge the guests accordingly. We are a leader in our market in Europe with nearly a thousand clients throughout France and a presence in the United Kingdom.Your team:You will join the Data team within Foodles' Tech division. It currently consists of a Head of Data, a Data Science & Analytics Manager, a Data Scientist, and two Data Analysts. This team works in high collaboration with the Data Platform team composed of 5 Data Engineers, and the Demand Planning & Dispatch team.What we expect from you:As a Data Scientist at Foodles, you will play a key role in personalizing the customer experience across Foodles' entire value chain. You will work hand in hand with the food, operations, and data engineering teams to solve complex problems with a direct impact on margin and customer satisfaction.Some of the topics in our data science roadmap:
  • Demand forecast models - Machine Learning
  • Dispatch optimization algorithm (defines what to send in each fridge every day) - Operational Research + Machine Learning
  • Menus optimization algorithm (defines the global offer every week) - Operational Research
  • R&D recommendation algorithm (recommends new recipes to develop) - Machine Learning
Your responsibilities:
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Foodles' activities and maintain a close relationship with the business to ensure the relevance of solutions, particularly with the Food and supply teams.
  • Design and improve ML and operational research strategic models to personalize the content of fridges and ensure the proper distribution of dishes.
  • Optimize the food offering based on guests' preferences and operational constraints.
  • Explore and model data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Measure the uplift and your business impact.
  • Create dashboards to illustrate the relevance of algorithms and monitor production.
  • Work closely with technical and business teams to implement scalable solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile:You are the engineer we need if you recognize yourself in the following profile:
  • Engineering degree with a specialization in operations research or data science.
  • You have more than 3 years' experience in data science with operational research in a fast-growing environment.
  • You have strong analytical skills to identify patterns and propose actionable recommendations.
  • You are result oriented, user first and agile.
  • You are committed to delivering useful and user-friendly features.
  • You take full ownership of your projects from conception through to release and ongoing production support.
  • You are able to adapt your communication to any audience, including non-technical ones.
  • You are able to understand and translate complex business issues in technical solutions.
  • You are a team player and like to receive and give constructive feedback.
  • You are curious and able to get out of your comfort zone. You are up to date with the latest practices and innovative solutions.
  • You speak French fluently.
