- Represent the Eutelsat Group Systems Engineering team in the User Terminal (UT) Development & Product Requirement/Specification, and where applicable and own such work packages.
- Liaise and work closely with the IRIS2 UT System Architect on defining the technical UT requirements based on the typical Use Cases & market requirements
- Provide the Technical Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to UT architecture design review and provide technical solution for any UT development challenges
- Review and ensure that the UT development fulfilled the UT PRD
- Translate and ensure the alignment between the IRIS2 market requirements, system CONOPS and technical product requirements
- Own, review and manage the processes governing the definition of the User Terminal product specifications.
- Provide UT Technical Product Management expertise and work with the UT System Architect to define and establish the User Terminal HW and SW Architecture identifying physical and logical elements.
- Support the UT Type Approval process and ensure that all the product requirements are met
- Where applicable, be accountable for third party contractual relationships, e.g. SOW, Contract, budget and schedule management, reporting to program office and IRIS2 program stakeholders.
- Work with Eutelsat Group engineering leads, product/program management, partner ecosystem, and end-customer IT / technology network teams to ensure that user terminal and system acceptance testing and validation meets schedule and quality requirements.
- Deep understanding/working experience in: Antenna subsystem, RF subsystem, Signal processing, DSP, Modem, Electronics or PCB design and User Terminal Architecture
- Ability/experience to map technical/system requirements into User Terminal segment architectures and subsystems designs
- Experience in liaising with supply chain and 3rd party vendors for the implementation of the User Terminal designs
- Creating verification/validation/test plans and leading the IVV campaigns
- Understanding of 3GPP, 5G, NTN architectures and definitions
- Desirable but not mandatory areas of expertise: Beamforming network (analog, digital, hybrid), 3GPP or Satcom Air Interface & Waveforms
- Exposure and understanding of the Product development life cycle
- Exposure in consolidation of product requirements and user requirements, use-case/applications trade-off analysis is beneficial (any methodologies, tools)
- Technical specification definition, derive specification from Use case/End user, System specification to User Terminal Specifications
- Experience in deriving/analysing technical requirements and specifications from systems requirements down to subsystems level (any methodologies, tools)
- Deep understanding/working experience in: Antenna subsystem, RF subsystem, Signal processing, DSP, Modem, Electronics or PCB design and User Terminal Architecture
- Ability/experience to map technical/system requirements into User Terminal segment architectures and subsystems designs
- Experience in liaising with supply chain and 3rd party vendors for the implementation of the User Terminal designs
- Creating verification/validation/test plans and lead the IVV campaigns
- Understanding of 3GPP, 5G, NTN architectures and definitions
- Desirable but not mandatory areas of expertise: Beamforming network (analogue, digital, hybrid), 3GPP or Satcom Air Interface & Waveforms
- Previous working experience in User Terminal development, certification & Systems Engineering for 8-10+ years preferably within the Satellite Communications industry.
- Experience in communications systems systems engineering requirement generation, testing and validation methodologies preferably in the areas of user terminal development and ideally encompassing various segments, e.g. land mobility, maritime and/or aeronautical.
- Hands-on experience on satellite user terminal technology & troubleshooting
- Degree in Telecommunications, Satellite Communications and/or Computer Science degree w/ emphasis in wireless communications, or equivalent work experience
- Technical product or program management experience
- Hands-on work managing complex wireless technology deployments
- Experience working directly with engineering teams, either satellite or cellular technology
- Ideally based in one of the Eutelsat Group head quarter offices within the European Union, Paris, France or Torino, Italy
- Flexible in-office and from-home remote work
- International travel required
