
Staff Database Engineer (All Genders)

- Operate, optimize and modernize our Mysql database platforms across hybrid environments, spanning both cloud-native and on-premise infrastructures.
- Drive high availability, reliability, and security of production databases through automated monitoring, dynamic scaling, proactive alerting, and continuous health assessments, with a strong focus on observability and operational excellence.
- Participate in the on-call program to provide application support, handle incident management, and troubleshoot production issues
- Collaborate with backend developers to optimize queries, indexes, and schema design, while continuously improving the architecture and deepening your understanding of the global system
- Plan and execute platform upgrades to meet evolving use cases and workloads (capacity planning, storage choices), while automating recurring tasks such as maintenance and repairs
- Contribute to knowledge sharing through procedure documentation and team training, and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in databases and infrastructure
- 4+ years professional experience on large-scale web platforms, ideally in an Agile environment.
- Strong knowledge administering MySQL, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and resolving complex database issues using native tools
- Strong knowledge of indexing, statistics, backup/recovery models, and experience implementing operational automation through scripts and routines
- Established experience in Cloud Computing, with knowledge of modern database technologies offered by major cloud providers (e.g., AWS RDS …) and a proven track record of leading or contributing to On-Premise to Cloud migration projects, driving cloud adoption and database modernization initiatives.
- Understanding of Linux system administration and container orchestration, particularly Kubernetes
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (ideally Python or Go), familiarity with Git and common development tools (CI/CD, code review workflows, debugging and testing tools)
- A strong interest in systems security, with a focus on implementing best practices to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of systems. This includes areas such as access control, data encryption, and secure communication protocols.
- Strong technical project management skills (organization, planning, execution) coupled with communication and documentation abilities in both French and English
