
Contract / Claims manager W/M - Permanent Contract

- Acquire a full understanding of the contracts related to the projects.
- Evaluate the compliance of the construction teams' activities with the terms, conditions, and contractual obligations.
- Monitor the execution of the contract and the implementation of contractual obligations by all parties to ensure adherence to their respective commitments.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks while being on the lookout for opportunities offered by the contracts.
- Participate in contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Review and draft contractual documents, including amendments and extensions.
- Ensure consistency between contractual terms and business objectives.
- Provide contractual support to the construction team during project execution to protect the company's interests (costs and deadlines).
- Act as the primary contact for contractual matters, particularly between internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate closely with legal, financial, and procurement teams to ensure compliance with contracts and schedules.
- Ensure adequate and prompt handling of requests initiated by clients (internal or external), suppliers, and subcontractors when they might alter the contract's subject, terms, and/or conditions.
- Promote good relations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, along with effective collaboration.
- Preparation and negotiation of subcontracting agreements, including handling subcontractors' requests for deviations from the main contract requirements.
- Drafting and negotiating claims/counterclaims for subcontractors.
- Final review of amendments to subcontracts.
- Identification of potential risks and proposal of mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement a framework to maximize control over legal and financial risks that may materialize throughout the contractual scheme.
- Drafting notifications and claims.
- Contentious management: o Establishment of dispute strategies. o Participation in representing the company during negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and international disputes. o Participation in selecting legal and technical advisors to support the company.
- Development and implementation of best practices in contract management.
- Training, awareness, and advice on contractual matters to relevant teams.
- You hold a legal qualification, are an engineer and/or have Quantity Surveying training with at least 5 years of experience in construction; within a company, law firm, or international consultancy firms.
- You have experience with international construction contracts and standard forms of construction contracts (FIDIC). Experience in litigation, mediation, and/or arbitration would be a plus. You are also capable of drafting claims.
- You demonstrate rigor, listening skills, organization, and possess strong analytical and synthesis abilities.

- Joining an international company, proficiency in English and French is essential. Mastery of an additional language such as Spanish or Arabic would be a plus.
