
Head of Geometallurgy & Mineral Processing W/M

- Lead and develop a team of engineers, researchers, and technicians, ensuring adherence to safety standards and alignment with Eramet's values.
- Drive Research & Development (R&D) initiatives through the innovation lifecycle, with a focus on delivery and balancing short-term operational needs with long-term strategic value.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with Business Units, Functional Teams, and other departments within Eramet Ideas to ensure that R&D initiatives are aligned with business needs, and that resulting solutions are practical, scalable, and fit-for-purpose.
- Translate technical challenges into business opportunities, identifying innovation pathways that support operational performance, product development and strategic growth.
- Uphold scientific quality and methodological rigor across all projects and deliverables.
- Foster strategic collaborations with external partners, such as universities, research institutes, and technology providers, to leverage external knowledge and capabilities and accelerate innovation outcomes.
- Act as a technical referent within the Group for geometallurgy and mineral processing, demonstrating both deep subject matter expertise and exemplary leadership behaviour.
- Oversee operational aspects of the department, including laboratory and pilot facility management, budgeting and equipment investment planning.
- Master's degree (Bac +5) in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or a related technical field. A PhD is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in R&D within the mining and metals industry, with strong experience managing a team.
- Substantial experience at industrial sites in technical, operational or project roles, providing a solid understanding of field realities and value drivers.
- Strong leadership and change management capabilities.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence across levels.
- Fluent in French and English.
- Set and communicate a clear vision aligned with strategic and operational goals.
- Deliver results through effective prioritization and disciplined execution.
- Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Empower and develop teams through feedback, delegation, and support.
- Adapt quickly to change, anticipate trends, and maintain flexibility.
- Willingness to travel and work across Eramet sites, external client locations, and international scientific forums.
